Thank you Ed and Anita. Andrew has returned home safely now. I think he got a little bit tired of snowy mountain passes and surprise road closurers. He drove 30 hours straight from Keystone, South Dakota to Onancock, VA.

Evening David! We are in the midst of thunderstormy night. Right now have a couple of nasty lines of storms headed our way out of Alabama. Over the last 3 weeks we have had almost 7 inches of rain here. They have declared the drough over in our area.
Business has really been picking up...not sure if it will last or is just temporary tax dollar refund spending but I am seeing some of my contractors that I have not seen in months in the store...
Best of luck in finishing up your classes. We have just had our first grandchild born - a little boy 2 weeks ago yesterday....and that has put a change around on our lives....Hope things continue to pick up for you in your area - and hope you get some time to do some things you want to do instead of having to do.
Talk to you later!

Yes, he is a hand full, but fun. But don't tell him I said so! We look forward to meeting you in person.
Have a wonderful day,

I have no doubt you will get it all down in fine style!!! Have a good week and yes I have seen more sticks go out of our box in the last 10 days than I have in the last 2 months...Put together 4 deals in last 2 weeks of between 8 & 12 thousand and have one I should get final approval on tomorrow for about 31 thousand....was so busy today - did not get home at lunch to do my daily update...Take care dear friend!

Hey David - the site looks great...it is really coming along....I have put a link from my site www.terrageezersramblins.com to your site if you don't mind. I also mentioned it as a site to visit under "Happenings" page.

Just trying to keep my site updated keeps me busy when I have a free moment....would love to have more time to do that....I have bunches of pics taken at very high resolutions, but trying to edit them to get them down to size that would load quickly is a major pain...and right now I just don't have the time....Anita is keeping me busy with our first grandchild scheduled to make his appearance into the world sometime in the next month.....so I guess it will get done when it gets done....Anyway great job on the site!!!!

David, it will be nice to meet you on your next trip. Any friend of Paul's is a friend of mine. But be careful of being in the same room with Cora and my wife, Mary.

Evening David;
Our construction lumber business is really off bad....We are seeing some of our strongest - financially - builders shutting down or not building anything with out pre-approved contract financing...Our focus used to be 70/30 toward the new construction builders and their subs....I have been moving all year to change that focus more to the Maint & Repair Operations contractors and would say that it is pretty much now 65/35 toward them and away from the new construction builder....I have a Corp budget I am held accountable for and with most of the big blue store running 18.8+% behind budget - my commercial services is only about 1.8% behind budget, so I feel pretty good about that....2009 is going to continue to be a real struggle. I have very good people working with me and it is a real team effort-but I am sure that we will face some really tough challenges this year.
It has started raining again here this evening....we got a little over 6 inches this week and the temps are going to plunge this next week - forecasting lows by the end of the week in the teens.....so that makes it even tougher to sell some sticks & bricks - which I know you know so well. Have a good weekend!

Hi David, Thank you.Last night was a heavy dream night again, probably because I was reminiscing here. They always seem to have the same themes. Not getting to see the people from the past or not being able to find my way around because of the changes.
I also lived in the condos along I-70 for a couple months, in todays photo. When I landed there totally by accident, (hitchhicking crosscountry) after highschool we lived a week in the state campground along lake Dillon.We were to early for jobs at the ski resorts but didn't want to leave so I got a job at Tate's New York Style Pizza the next day and the rest was history.I stayed almost two years.

Thanks for the Anniversary wishes....We got back from what was a whirlwind get away trip...We got to do about 4 miles of hiking before the rain set in. All in all it was just good to get away from the retail world after the Holidays rush. These first couple of days back, I have had more contractors in than I had in the last 2 weeks of Dec - even with all the rain we are having - back deck shows over 4.5 inches in the rain gauge for 2 days and more is coming tonight.....Paul has been a tremendous help with the website - I have got to get my pics posted....problem is having the time to reduce the size so I don't use up all my website space....and at the end of the day - after dealing with customers - there is not a lot of creative energy left to work on it....I really envy Paul for his freedom of time and location....Well let me run, have a sick kitten I have got to take care of.....Have a great week....and will look forward to SKYPE'ing with you when you have time.
